Harrington Open no problem for Speed Away

HARRINGTON, DE – Breakaway Racing and Yorwollohan Racing’s Speed Away (Father Patrick) and harness racing driver Corey Callahan) were a 1:54.4 winner in the $22,500 Open Trot Wednesday (May 1) at Harrington Raceway.

The Nick Callahan-trainee settled in 4th early behind pacesetter That Ole Bar Stool, before a persistent backstretch grind to three-quarters, where he would steadily gain and eventually pass the leader in deep stretch. That Ole Bar Stool was second with Manatlas third. It was the first win in fve starts this year for the 6-year-old gelding who paid $4.60 to win.

It was one of 2 wins on the card for driver Callahan, who joined Russell Foster, Pat Berry and Allan Davis with a double.
