SRF horse makes many smile

Rose Run Legend, a 14 yr old gelding, was rescued from shipping to slaughter by SRF in December.

An amazing lady stepped up to foster him and has given him a new purpose in life…providing joy in the lives of those at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

The wonderful temperament of this breed continues to amaze so many people. This horse walked right in and just about “sat right down”. He brought so many smiles to those needing them. The wheelchairs, walkers, doorways, glass doors, rolling tables, many new sounds and noise, the cheering, laughing, and so much more new to him didn’t phase this gentleman.

He seemed to know that this was what he had to do, and he did it so well.

This is such a sweet story, and while we prefer not to share the closing of Rose’s chapter in his life, we believe he had filled his purpose.

Not long after his visit, Rose drifted off to heaven. He touched so many lives, and now he is at peace, a little too early for such a star.

Thank you, Melanie Maasdam, you saved a life, and you filled many with a little joy, you are incredible! We hope that the sharing of this story brings Melanie a smile of her own. ‌
