SRF seeking trainer/barn manager

Cream Ridge, NJ – 4/10/2024 – The Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) seeks a compassionate individual with a strong equine background. We change the lives of former harness racing horses by the hundreds every year. If you love horses this is where you want to be. We are a passionate team with the same compassionate and exciting goal.

Horse Trainer-Barn Management

Some Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee the daily operation of the herd, train gaits, meet with potential adopters, and oversee our wonderful volunteers;
• Schedule the vet, dentist, and farrier;
• Keep accurate detailed records;
• Collaborate with the team to secure appropriate and caring homes for the horses;
• Assist with events and marketing.

Requirements:

• Experience around horses in all areas of care and training;
• Ability to recognize a horse’s needs medically and mentally;
• Knowledge of minor treatments for injuries, colic, and illness.
• Pleasant people skills;
• Computer skills;
• Rescue minded.
