On December 13, a yearling Standardbred filly in Indian River County, Florida, was confirmed positive for strangles after developing clinical signs on December 11. Five horses at the facility are exposed. The horse is under official quarantine.
This is the 38thĀ confirmed case of strangles in Florida in 2023.
Indian River County is located two counties north of Palm Beach County in the Atlantic shoreline.
