WASHINGTON, PA, June 28, 2023 — Stay Sunny (Stay Hungry-Summer Sunlight) led every step to capture Wednesday’s (Jun. 28) opener of a Pop-Up Series for freshman filly harness racing pacers at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. Canigetalouploup (Sweet Lou-Continual Velocity) took the other $10,000 opening-leg division.
Stay Sunny had two previous starts without a win. But on Wednesday, she seized the point for Jeremy Indof and threw down a 27.4 final quarter to seal the victory in 1:56.1. Lousloulemon closed well for second, 3/4 lengths back, with the pocket-sitting Deja Jade third. Mitchell York owns and trains Stay Sunny.

Canigetalouploup moved uncovered from fifth for Dan Charlino in her career debut to score impressively in 1:56.2. Joy For All was second, beaten 1-1/2 lengths, while Beams Of The Sun completed the ticket.
Ron Burke conditions the homebred daughter for Burke Racing Stable, Larry Karr, Phillip Collura and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
