Strong Chapter Seven fillies to test mettle in $107,700 NYSS

Vernon Downs will host three harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 2-year-old trotting fillies on Friday (August 19).

Highly touted In Italian (Chapter Seven-Hemi Blue Chip and driver Jordan Stratton are the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $35,900 first division.  Ron Burke trains the filly. She is searching for her first career win.

The Noel Daley trained Pride N Joy (Andrew McCarthy) is the 5-2 second choice.  The filly by E L Titan-Princess Lilly is coming off a Kindergarten stakes win at the Meadowlands.

The Jim Doherty Memorial winner, Instagram Model (Chapter Seven-Check Out Trixie and driver Andy McCarthy are the 7-5 morning line favorite in the $35,900 second division.  The filly is trained by Annie Stoebe.  She has two wins in three starts and has amassed almost $180,000 in lifetime earnings.

Woolco (Tyler Buter) is the 7-2 second choice.  Robert Krivelin trains the filly by Chapter Seven-Upside Hanover.  She has NYSS wins at Monticello and Yonkers.

Ruth Honig (Chapter Seven-Lady Grey) and driver Tyler Buter are the 3-2 morning line favorite in the $35,900 third division.  The filly is trained Lucas Wallin.  She has two wins in three starts including a NYSS win at Monticello.

The unbeaten Kayleigh S (Chapter Seven-Pasithea Face S and driver Brian Sears are the 3-1 second choice.  Marcus Melander trains the filly.  She is three for three this season with NYSS wins at Yonkers, Batavia, and Saratoga.

The 13-race card starts at 6:05 p.m.
