Topsham, Maine … Sunday’s (August 4) harness racing at the Topsham Fair have been postponed due to flooding at the fairgrounds caused by torrential downpours which passed over the state of Maine during the early hours of Sunday morning.
In order to restore and maximize racing opportunities, the following schedule changes are now in effect:
– Sunday’s original card will be carried over to Monday (August 5) and raced with a 1:00 p.m. post time.
– Monday’s original card will be carried over to Tuesday (August 6) and raced with a 3:00 p.m. post time.
– Tuesday’s original card will be carried over to Wednesday (August 7) and raced with a 1:00 post time.
– Thursday’s (August 8) card will go as scheduled with a 3:00 p.m. post time.
– Saturday’s (August 10) card will go as scheduled with a 1:00 p.m. post time.
“Fairground crews and volunteers are working diligently to repair flooding damage suffered in the paddock and to restore the viability of the racing we’re confident we’ll be able to go on with the show on Monday.”
Monday’s card will feature free admission with patrons afforded the opportunity to win valuable free passes to the fair as well as to the additional harness racing cards to be held later in the week.
All harness racing cards will be broadcast live on YouTube and online wagering opportunities will be available on the Hollywood Races platform atĀ hollywoodraces.com.
