Perfect Vixen, a three-year-old filly by Muscles Yankee, was able to lead from start to finish in capturing the $33,400 final of the John Mongeon, Sr Memorial Trot Sunday at Saratoga Raceway.
The fifth race feature saw Perfect Vixen and driver John Stark, Jr. leave from post three, get parked out by Gavinator (Brett Crawford) to a :28.4 opening quarter mile before taking command of the race.
Perfect Vixen then led the field past the half mile in :58.1, with Jackson Steinem (Jordan Derue) coming first-over and pressuring Perfect Vixen past the half and through the three-quarters in 1:26.3 before tiring.
Then in the stretch, Perfect Vixen and John Stark, Jr. held the field at bay and won by one and three-quarters length in 1:55.4. Galvinator was second with Charlatan Hanover (Billy Dobson) third.

It was perfect ending to the day as Perfect Vixen is trained by Scott Mongeon for Ed Reich and Irwin Lampert. She paid $2.40 to win. It was her seven win in nine starts this year.
