Jimmer (Equinox Bi) set a lifetime mark in Sunday's feature at the harness racing meeting at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.
The Don Sherman-trained six year old has been on top of his game in the last two months and on Sunday would not be denied.
Driver Phil Fluet moved Jimmer first over on the race's favorite Zoey De Vie (Jim Devaux) and wound up grinding him into submission with a big effort on the outside.
Zoey De Vie fought gamely after being parked out for the first 3/8 of a mile and held strong for second while Midnite Craze (Jay Randall) earned the show spot in the $14,000 Winners Over trot. Jimmer, who returned $10.80 to win on Sunday, recorded his victory in a career best 1:54.4 for his fifth win on the season.
Jimmer, who has hit the board in fourteen of his 23 seasonal tries, is co-owned by Jessica Roegner and his trainer Don Sherman.
Live racing resumes on Thursday beginning at 4:00pm before the summer schedule kicks in with 7:05pm first posts starting on Friday evening.
