Dover, Del.— Sunshine Superman took charge after the opening quarters and raced first the rest of the mile to win the Sunday, Jan. 31 feature race at Dover Downs. Harness racing driver Tony Morgan remains red hot driving three winners.
Owned by trainer Doug Lewis, the nine-year-old Rocknroll Hanover-Carolina Sunshine gelding held off fast closing Delaware Hanover (Frank Milby) and Jeremes General (Allan Davis) to post his 29th career victory with lifetime earnings of 371,551. The victory was the first of two for Jonathan Roberts.
A $20,000 4&5-Year-Old Claiming pace was the sub-feature. George Dennis guided Bob Murray's Three Day Forecast to his second win in last three chalking up a lifetime fastest 1:51.1 score. Shawn Murray conditions the Three Olives-Future Forecast gelding who won for the third time this meet. If You Want Fire (A.Davis) was second best. PL Hoofhearted (Montrell Teague) took third money.
Red hot driver Tony Morgan had a triple while Jonathan Roberts, trainer Steve LeBlanc and owners Bill Lutz, LeBlanc Racing and Count De Money stables had two winners each.
