Cranbury, NJ — This year marks the fifth year in which the Hambletonian Society is accepting supplemental yearling nominations for the harness racing events we service that require a yearling nominating payment be made.
This supplemental yearling nomination payment is for those nominators who have missed the regular May 15 payment deadline but are still interested in staking their horses. The amount due for these supplemental payments is five times the May 15 payment for the race in question. For example, the May 15 yearling payment for the Adios is $10. The supplemental yearling payment would be five times that amount, or $50, and would be due postmarked to our office by Wednesday (Aug. 16) per USTA rules.
The direct link to the form for supplemental yearling nominations can be found on our website here: 2023 Yearling Supplemental Nomination Form or by calling our office and having the form mailed, faxed or e-mailed to you.
Please also remember that the supplemental payment or the “catch up” nomination fee of $10,000 for the Dayton Derby in 2023 is also due Aug. 15.
Also, a note for those interested, the Grand Circuit races taking place at the Indiana State Fair this Wednesday are scheduled to be livestreamed on the Indiana Standardbred Association’s Vimeo page. Post time is at 4 p.m. (EDT) and the link to the stream can be found on the ISA’s Vimeo page here: ISA Vimeo Stream Link.
