WASHINGTON, PA, June 15, 2023 — Parked for more than a quarter, Sweet And Feisty (Sweet Lou-Fast And Fiesty) dug deep to hold off the late challenge of Lydeo and extend her harness racing winning streak to four in Thursday’s (Jun. 15) $21,200 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Sweet And Feisty faced no serious pressure outside, but when the ground-saving Lydeo came off the cones for the drive, the battle was on. The 4-year-old mare downed Lydeo by a head in 1:51.2 for Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. while Best Head West rallied for show.
SWEET AND FEISTY REPLAY
Sweet And Feisty now has banked $124,099 for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Hunter Myers and Dave Palone joined trainer Ashley Brown with two wins on the 12-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday, first post 5:10 PM.
