Sweet Angel Boy left hard from the rail to command pole position through fractions of 27.2, 56.3 and 1:24.1 and drew away for a 1:51.3 win over Hundred Dollar Man and Effingham. The 7-year-old Sweet Lou gelding notched his 3rd win of the year for his owner/trainer. He was the 2024 Harrington horse of the meet.

SWEET ANGEL BOY REPLAY

The Labor Day program started with a 6-to-1 upset as pacer Lyons Black Magic (Barton Dalious, $15.60) utilized a powerful stretch kick to win the opener for owner/trainer Michael Davis in 1:52.1. Dalious took both halves of the double in upset fashion as The Wiz Kids Stable’s Master Rigger ($15.80) won the 2nd in 1:52.4. Dalious won 3 races on the card, with two winners trained by his father Bart Dalious.

In the sub-featured $14,500 winners-over pace, Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Stephen Iaquinta’s Joker On Jack ($4.40, Corey Callahan) was a 1:53.1 winner over Spicey Major A and Discovery for trainer Eric Ell.

Montrell Teague, Wolfenden and Corey Callahan each had driving doubles.
