WASHINGTON, PA, April 27, 2023 — Sweet On Her (Donato Hanover-Sweetsixtennkarats) zipped to the lead from post 6 and drew off late to capture Thursday’s (Apr. 27) $19,800 championship leg of the Margaret Provost Memorial for 3-year-old harness racing filly trotters at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Sweet On Her took advantage of an unusual start, as three fillies leaving inside her in the field of six broke stride. Trainer/driver Wilbur Yoder gave Sweet On Her a 29.3 second-quarter breather, and that was all the filly needed. She scored in a career-best 1:54.4 while Angelpedia stalked in vain from the pocket and finished 2-3/4 lengths back. Allforsouthwind completed the ticket.
Bob Troyer owns Sweet On Her.
Yoder said he wasn’t concerned about the break-fest inside him.
“I didn’t pay too much attention to that,” he said. “I knew if I could get her to the front, she would behave herself and be fine.”
He said Sweet On Her is eligible to most Pennsylvania stakes this year, including sires stakes, the PA All-Stars, the Currier & Ives, the Arden Downs and the Keystone Classic.
