Monticello, NY— Jim Taggart Jr had a driving triple at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 13), which included the $6,500 harness racing Open trot with Chip Chip Conway (Conway Hall).
The 4-5 favorite Chip Chip Conway took the early lead, followed by Hot Summer Knight (Joseph Chindano Jr) in second and Raceace (Mcgwire Sowers) in third. They passed the first quarter mile in :29.1.
As they approached the half mile in :59.4, Chip Chip Conway had the lead by a length over Hot Summer Knight. E R Shane (Bruce Aldrich Jr) was first-over, looking to challenge Raceace for third.
Heading past the three-quarter mile marker in 1:29.1, Chip Chip Conway refused to give up his lead, Hot Summer Knight was racing in the pocket spot in second, and Raceace and E R Shane were in a battle for third.
Chip Chip Conway crossed the wire first in 1:58.1, a length ahead of Hot Summer Knight. E R Shane finished in third.

Chip Chip Conway is a 7-year-old gelding trained by Gary Messenger and owned and bred by Gary Messenger and Kenneth Weckstein. He paid $3.70 to win.
