Team hat trick for Ranger, Cecere

Plainville, MA — Hats were flying for harness racing driver Bruce Ranger, trainer Domenico Cecere and their Antonacci family connections after they combined to win three races on the card Friday (Oct. 18) at Plainridge Park.

They kicked off their big day with Cheval Rapide (Father Patrick), who captured the $13,500 conditioned trot for 5-year-olds and under after taking the lead past the quarter and stretching out every quarter after that, before winning easily by three lengths in 1:54.3.

CHEVAL RAPIDE REPLAY

Cheval Rapide ($3.00) is owned by Greathorse.

Then they won the $14,500 mid-level conditioned trot with Internationalmodel (International Moni), who similarly took the lead past the quarter, opened up a four length advantage by the top of the stretch and then held off a late closing Busting With Pride (Brett Beckwith) to win in 1:55.1.

INTERNATIONALMODEL REPLAY

Internationalmodel ($11.00) is owned by Lindy Farms of Connecticut and R and I Farm.

Finally they won the $17,500 featured trot with Sforza (Walner), who dominated on the lead through quarters on :27.1, :57 and 1:25.2, before turning for home and maintaining his race-long three length lead to win in a lifetime best, 1:54.1.

Sforza ($3.40) is also owned by Greathorse.

Racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Monday (Oct. 21) at 2 p.m. and there will be a $5,107 carryover in the Wicked Hi-5 pentafecta in race six.
