A dream has come true for Team Svanstedt as they have confirmed that they have purchased a horse farm in Lexington, Kentucky.
Not to worry about Ake and Sarah Svanstedt moving from their New Jersey harness racing training facility. That will not happen as the farm in Kentucky is a new addition to the stable.
“We are not moving,” explained Sarah Svanstedt. “But it’s correct that we have bought a beautiful farm just 10 minutes from the Red Mile and Keenland is just around the corner. We purchased it together with our owner Knuttsson Trotting (Tristan Sjöberg).
“It has 26 stalls and a lot of big paddocks,” Svanstedt explained. “The purpose is to use it when the Grand Circuit and Sire Stakes races are at Red Mile and in the area. We want to give our horses the best chance to perform when we travel away from home.”
The new farm does have jogging options now for the horses and Sarah Svanstedt explained that they will be building a straight track on it.
“This place is going to make our horses every happy to stay at.” Svanstedt said. “We love Lexington and to have your own place to go to with the horses is a dream come true.”
