Telenovela (Devious Man) and driver Dylan Huckabone-Miller came charging late in the harness racing stretch to capture the $8,500 featured trot in an upset at 8-1 on Saturday (June 3) at Vernon Downs.

Discus Hanover (John MacDonald) took the early lead, but Joxter (Dan Daley) drove by just before hitting the quarter first in :28.4. He used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :58. Joxter cruised to three-quarters in 1:26.3.
As they reached the stretch Joxter led the way, but Telenovela ($18.40) found an opening on the inside as Discus Hanover came three-wide. With one last burst Telenovela won in a lifetime best of 1:55.1. Joxter had to settle for second. Third best for Discus Hanover.
Telenovela is a 4-year-old mare owned by Daley Double Racing Stable and trained by Claude Huckabone III. It was her fifth win in 2023. She now has 11 career victories.
