Telenovela (Devious Man, Dylan Huckabone-Miller) and Prairie Magical (Royel Millennium, Dan Harvey) won the harness racing co-features at Vernon Downs on Friday (September 29).
Telenovela charges late to win the $6,000 featured trot.
Purpose Blue Chip (Leon Bailey) was first to the quarter in :26.2.Ā Ā He used a :30.4 second quarter breather to be first to the half in :57.1.Ā Ā Skyway Professor (Claude Huckabone Jr. was first to make a move going first-over down the backstretch.Ā Ā Purpose Blue Chip was first to three-quarters in 1:27.0.
As they made the turn for home Purpose Blue Chip led the way but Sweet Sofie T (John MacDonald) found an opening on the inside and the two battled for the lead.Ā Ā Telenovela ($4.40) came flying late like she was shot out of a cannon and blew by them both to win in 1:56.2.Ā Ā Sweet Sofie T finished second.Ā Ā Purpose Blue Chip had to settle for third.
Telenovela is a 4-year-old mare owned by Daley Double Racing Stable and trained by Claude Huckabone III.Ā Ā It was her seventh win this season and her 13th career victory. She paid $4.40 to win.

Shes So Sweet (Leon Bailey) led to the quarter in :27.4.Ā Ā Heston Honey (Brennan Enos) came first-up down the backstretch and challenged for the lead.Ā Ā Shes So Sweet got to the half first in :57.1.Ā Ā Prairie Magical Made her move going three-wide around the final turn.Ā Ā Shes So Sweet was the leader at three-quarters in 1:26.1.
As they reached the stretch Prairie Magical and Shes So Sweet were slugging it out as Dream On A Roll (Barton Dalious) slipped through the inside to make it three across the track.Ā Ā Prairie Magical got there first in 1:53.4.Ā Ā Dream On A Roll was second.Ā Ā Shes So Sweet finished third.
Prairie Magical is a 3-year-old filly owned and trained by Laurie Poulin.Ā Ā It was her fifth win this season.Ā Ā She now owns six career victories and paid $15.60 to win.
