Tequila Talkin battles Whiskey Blu in Trot

WASHINGTON, PA, June 9, 2022 — Tequila Talkin (Cantab Hall) stalked his stablemate, Whiskey Blu, from the pocket, then shot the Lightning Lane to capture Thursday’s harness racing feature — and his second straight win — at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,800 Conditioned Trot.

Whiskey Blu took the lead from Tequila Talkin at the quarter, but the 7-year-old gelding enjoyed the cover. He zipped by late for driver Dave Palone to score in 1:54.3, a tick off his lifetime mark. Palone now is just 24 wins away from his 20,000th career win.

Aunt Bee rallied for second, 1-3/4 lengths back, while Whiskey Blu saved show.

Ron Burke trains Tequila Talkin, who now boasts a career bankroll of $241,788, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
