WASHINGTON, PA, Sept. 2, 2022 — Tequila Talkin (Cantab Hall-Margarita Nights) endured a demanding first quarter but still was much the best in Friday’s (Sep. 2) $19,300 harness racing Open Handicap Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Tequila Talkin was parked from post 7 that entire opening panel, but when they turned for home, the 7-year-old gelding responded to Dave Palone and defeated the pocket-sitting Joey by 2 lengths in 1:53.3, a tick off his lifetime mark. Refi completed the ticket.
TEQUILA TALKIN REPLAY
Ron Burke trains Tequila Talkin, who triumphed for the 10th time this year and lifted his lifetime bankroll to $299,613, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
It was one of five wins for Palone on the 11-race card.
Saturday’s blockbuster card at The Meadows features four $253,000 Pennsylvania Sires Stake championships for 3-year-olds as well as a $50,000 consolation in each division. Overall, more than $1.2 million in purses will be up for grabs. The pari-mutuel program begins at 12:45 PM, with a non-wagering event — one of the consolations — set for 12:30.
