Monticello, NY— The 1-5 favorite Tesla Seelster (Muscle Mass) claimed the harness racing victory in the $6,900 trot on Wednesday (Aug. 9) at Monticello Raceway.
Off the car Bank Guard took the early lead with Bully Boy on the far outside. Tesla Seelster and driver Greg Merton followed in third from the inside. Tesla Seelster took over the lead as they reached the first quarter in :29 flat.
Tesla Seelster, who had dropped down from the open company, led the way by a length. Bully Boy was in the pocket spot second. At the half mile they were timed in :59:3.
Moving around the clubhouse turn, Tesla Seelster was still leading the way, Bully Boy followed in second with Lous Livia in third.
Approaching the three-quarters, Tesla Seelster was still holding on to that advantage in 1:29:3. Coming around the final turn, Tesla Seelster was leading the way by a length and a half. Bully Boy finished second, followed by Lous Livia in third in 1:58:2.
