It has been reported to be as many as 19 horses between Delaware and Maryland have come up positive for the newest drug to hit harness racing, Synthetic Marijuana.
Two positives were reported yesterday from Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland that trainers Jason Bowers and Thomas Lord each received fines of $2,500 and a one-year suspension as their horses were found to be positive for ADB-Fubinaca.
Both trainers are appealing the rulings. Both horses had finished first and have been placed last.

ADB-Fubinaca in simple terms is synthetic cannabinoids or synthetic marijuana. It is defined as new psychoactive substances (NPS) and are designer drugs with chemical structure similar to classical drug substances like cannabis.
Apparely, all of the trainers that have had positive tests for ADB-Fubinaca are appealing the judges’ rulings and have not asked for a split sample to be tested.
It was also reported to be four positive tests in Maryland and as many as 15 positive test results in Delaware.
