Recently founded Kountry Lane Standardbreds enter the Lexington Select Yearling Sale starting on the 5th of October, full of long term confidence with five outstanding harness racing yearlings from there first crop of mares originally purchased at the White Birch dispersal sale in 2019.
The five harness racing yearlings are all consigned and raised by the outstanding team of Doug and Beth Yontz of Anvil And Lace Farm in central Kentucky.
Kountry Lane Standardbreds stated ambition is to raise and sell top quality yearlings for unreserved sale at all times.
In the first article on Kountry Lane Standardbreds we presented Hip # 53 Knights Tale and in our second article we covered Hip # 151 Shining Rocks and Hip # 176 Be The Captain.
Today we will cover the fourth yearling presented by Kountry Lane Standardbreds at this coming week’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale.
If you are looking for pedigree in a trotting yearling this year you will find that there is no better International pedigree, that is packed with great racehorses, great dams and great sires, than Hip # 624 Kountry Jon on day four at this year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale starting on Tuesday the 5th of October.
Hip # 624 Kountry Jon is a outstanding colt by the great Cantab Hall son Father Patrick 1:50.2f ($2,600,571) out of the race winning Varenne 1:51.1 ($5,651,061) mare Caddie In Love S.
In 2020, Father Patrick reached new milestones with millionaire and Breeders Crown winner Amigo Volo 1:50.2f ($1,668,901) plus the debut syndication of the highly touted Greenshoe 1:49.4 ($1,387,376). Greenshoe’s star studded full books continue to flatter Father Patrick as well as the emergence of top three-year-old fillies Crucial ($528,598), Panem ($357,172), and Sister Sledge 1:51.2 ($910,393). Father Patrick ended 2020 ranked #2 in overall earnings for three-year-olds, behind only Muscle Hill as well as #2 by average earnings per starter. The stage is set for even more champion sons and daughters for Father Patrick as his best-bred crop has just foaled in 2021.

Now onto the dam of Kountry Jon, the race winning mare Caddie In Love S. This is where things get really interesting because Caddie In Love is a half sister by Varenne ($5,651,061) to the dam of the International sensational racehorse and now sire Readly Express 1:50.4s ($2,900,000). Sired by the Love You son Ready Cash and out of a daughter by Viking Kronos (Caddie Dream) who lifted a Swedish G1 at three, Readly Express is undeniably exquisitely regally-bred.
Readly Express race record stands at 37 starts for 28 wins, 5 seconds and 2 thirds for $2,900,000. Now in the breeding shed this son of Ready Cash is proving to be a sensation as a young stallion at stud with a growing band of very promising young racehorses.
In Caddie In Love’s immediate pedigree or should I say in her first three dams there are several successful stallions, more than you would normally see in most pedigrees. Here are the top racehorses and now successful stallions that are shown in Kountry Jon’s immediate pedigree;
Mack Lobell ($3,917,594) (Mystic Park). 71 wins, 2 thru 5. (European stallion)
American Winner ($1,302,451) by Super Bowl (USA Stallion)
Readly Express ($2,900,000) by Ready Cash (European stallion)
Enjoy Lavec ($933,956) by Pine Chip. (USA and European Stallion)
Super Pleasure ($827,238) by (Canadian Stallion)
BJ’S Mac ($376,210) By Super Bowl (USA Stallion)
Hip # 624 Kountry Jon has a pedigree full of top end race horses and race mares, millionaires and champions and has everything a buyer could dream off as a potential top stakes earner and potentially a valuable stallion at the end of his racing career.
