Windsor, Maine …. Harness racing driver David Ingraham expertly controlled the tempo at the Windsor Fair on Thursday (August 29), teaming three winners down Victory Lane while simultaneously rewarding his backers with handsome returns at the pari-mutuel windows.
Ingraham utilized near identical strategies in claiming victories in both halves of the Daily Double, setting sail from the get-go while keeping the post time favorites trapped in the pocket and unable to engage.
Nets Of Passion (1:56.3-$12.00) secured his 30th career win while front-running on the engine in the opening dash. With Lexus With A View (Aaron Hall) stalled in the pocket, Ingraham simultaneously held the outer flow at bay before speeding home through a zippy :28.4 final panel to claim the one-length margin for owner-trainer Stephen La Casse.
A similar scenario played out in race number two when Ingraham fired Pillage And Burn (1:57.2-$9.00) off the car, burying Spread The Fear (McGwire Sowers) in the garden seat before leveraging the playing field to his greatest advantage.
The win was the 44th career score for the Douglas Beckwith owned and trainedĀ Ā pacer, who together with Nets officer Passion returned a generous $52.80 Daily Double ticket.
Ingraham closed out his hat trick with a score from his and Kelly Caseās roster as Rocksapatriot (1:56.2-$12.40) rumbled to his 34th career victory march while boldly racing in first over fashion to the upwardly mobile Vel Letsroll South (McGwire Sowers). Ingraham and his charge overtook the surprising rabbit at the 3/4-mile marker and then held off a determined late stretch bid from Instant Replay (Ron Cushing) and Call Me Maverick (John Beckwith) to post the 1/2-length margin in the featured $6000 Not Posted Open event.
In other Windsor Fair news, McGuire Sowers, Winter Asher-Stalbaum, and Joey Mosher each secured driving doubles on the program. Asher-Stalbaum and Autym Robinson trumped all conditioned with two wins each on the afternoon card.
Racing resumes at the Windsor Fair on Friday (August 30th) with a 3:00 p.m. post time. Racing continues on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Labor Day) with post time slated at 1:00 p.m.
