In the first $10,000 trotting preliminary, Call Me Goo (Googoo Gaagaa) was content taking a two-hole trip behind pace setter, Goolishness, and then exploded in the stretch to post an easy three- and one-half victory in 1:58.1.
Owned by the Graham Grace Stables of Virginia, and trained by Jason Skinner, the filly pushed her seasonal earnings to $60,000 and her lifetime winnings over $127,000. Leading driver Jonathan Roberts was in the sulky. She paid $2.40 to win.
In the $10,000 pacing division, Babes All In (Rustys All In), made no mistakes in posting a wire-to-wire win in 1:55.0, besting the second-place finisher, Smooth Rocket by a half a length.
Owned and trained by Ron Short of Greenwood, Delaware, the three-year-old gelding has now won over $41,000 in 2023 and moved his lifetime money over $82,000. The winner returned $6.60.
After a weekās hiatus, both guys and gals return for their second preliminary on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
