Tioga Downs plays host to three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 2-year-old harness racing pacing colts and geldings on Sunday (August 15).
Early Action (Jason Bartlett) is the 2-1 morning line favorite in $34,200 first division of the NYSS. Joe Holloway trains the gelding by Huntsville-Fashion Kate. He has a win and a second in three lifetime starts.
The second morning choice is the Gary Messenger trained KJ Hunter (Matt Kakaley). The colt by Huntsville-Winsmith has a win, a second, and a third in five career starts.
In the $33,600 second division Forest Blu (Tyler Buter) is the one to beat. John Butenshoen trains the gelding by Roll With Joe-Lima Fairest. He has three career victories including NYSS wins at Monticello and Saratoga.
His chief rival is the Erv Miller trained Flip My Chip (Marcus Miller). The gelding by Heston Blue Chip-Restive Hanover has two wins in four starts including a NYSS win at Monticello.
The Erv Miller trained Stretch The Line (Tyler Buter) should be the big favorite in the $34,200 third division. The gelding by Huntsville-Jessalilmixup has four wins so far this season including NYSS wins at Saratoga and Monticello.
The Monica Krist trained Pickup Man Hanover (Billy Dobson) is the morning line second choice. The Colt by Huntsville-Pilgrim Witchie has two lifetime victories including a NYSS win at Monticello. The 10-race card starts at 1pm.
