First-over grind takes Tioga feature pace

Mirragon A (Art Major) and driver Tyler Miller captured the $10,500 featured harness racing pace on Sunday (June 25) at Tioga Downs.

Machiatto A (Ridge Warren) went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :28.2.  He went :28.1 in the second quarter and was first to the half in :56.3.  Mirragon A ($3.80) made his move first-up heading for the final turn.  Machiatto A was first to three-quarters in 1:23.2.

As they made the turn for home it was all Miragon A as he blew right on by to win easily in a lifetime best of 1:51.2.  Thisjetsabookin (McGwire Sowers) came up to get second.  Machiatto A had to settle for third.

Miragon A is a 7-year-old gelding owned by Joel Warner, John Manning, and trainer Mike Deters.  It was his second win this season.  He now owns 18 career victories.

Tyler Miller had a driving hat trick.  He got his other wins with Tiger Baron and Crown Hanover.
