Miller sends Knight Angel down the road to victory

Knight Angel (Archangel) and driver Tyler Miller won the $10,500 featured Open 2 Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (July 8).

Jammin Jack (Corey Braden) took the early lead.  Knight Angel ($5.70) got by just before hitting the quarter first in :28.1.  He used a :29.3 second quarter to lead to the half in :57.4.  He cruised to three-quarters in 1:25.4.

As they made the turn for home Knight Angel played catch me if you can and Believer (Ridge Warren) gave it a shot slipping through on the inside with late trot but fell short as Knight Angel won in 1:54.4.  Believer had to settle for second.  Jammin Jack was third best.

Knight Angel is a 7-year-old gelding is owned by Jaypaul Hoover and trained by Julie Miller.  It was his third win this season and 22^nd career victory.

Tyler Miller and Aaron Byron had driving triples as Ridge Warren added a driving double.  Marc Major had a training double.
