Tioga Downs will play host to two $57,000 harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) on Friday (June 7) for three-year-old trotting fillies.
In the $57,000 first division Chaparmbro (Chapter Seven) and trainer-driver Trond Smedshammer) and Winning Alliance (Chapter Seven) and driver Todd Ratchford) appear to be the ones to beat.
Chaparmbro is trained by Smedshammer.Ā She raced in the Breeders Crown Final as a 2-year-old.Ā She owns a win, two seconds, and a third in six lifetime starts.
Undefeated Winning Alliance is six for six in 2024 including a win in the NYSS at Vernon Downs.Ā She has seven wins in nine lifetime starts.
The John Butenschoen trained R Melina (Chapter Seven) and driver Tyler Buter are the one to beat in the $57,000 second division.Ā The filly is two for two this season getting NYSS wins at Yonkers and Vernon.Ā She has nine wins in her career and has tallied over $446,000 in lifetime earnings.
top competitor appears to be Sister Mary Maude (Crazy Wow) with driver Joe Bongiorno.Ā The filly has four seconds in four starts in 2024.Ā Her last two seconds were losses to R Melina in NYSS action.Ā Ron Burke trains the filly.Ā She has five career victories.
