The Stunning Nun N (Bettor’s Delight) and harness racing driver Tyler Miller captured the $9,000 fillies & mares’ pace at Tioga Downs on Friday (May 24).
The Stunning Nun N ($20.60) went straight for the lead and led to the quarter in :28.1. She slowed things down and used a :30.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.4. As they reached the backstretch Arnie’s Angel (Ridge Warren) came first-up to challenge. The Stunning Nun N reached three-quarters first in 1:27.0.
As they made the turn for home The Stunning Nun N shook off Arnie’s Angel. Second place finisher Huntressville A (Mike Merton) became the major danger as she came flying home. The Stunning Nun N dug in and held on to win in 1:56.0. Won Surreal Deal (Barton Dalious) finished third.
The Stunning Nun N is a 9-year-old mare owned by J Warner, J Manning, B Jensen, and trainer Mike Deters. It was her second win this season. She now has 26 career wins.
