P Chico takes Tioga feature

P Chico (Tactical Landing, Bruce Aldrich Jr.) captures the $10,000 feature harness racing trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (Aug. 3).

Heavens Pic (Aaron Byron) grabbed the early lead but P Chico ($18.00) took over just before hitting the quarter first in :28.2.  He used a :30.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.2.  Betterinpinhurst (Braxten Boyd) came first-over from fourth going down the backstretch and got into second.  P Chico was first to three-quarters in 1:26.1.

Second place finisher Betterinpinehurst came all out at the leader as they reached the stretch.  P Chico shook him off and won in 1:55.0.  Heavens Pic finished third.

P Chico is a 4-year-old gelding owned by Jose Cervantes and trained by Jenny Melander.  It was his fourth win of the season.  He now has eight career victories.
