Dandy’s Mercy (Captain Crunch) and harness racing driver Braxten Boyd captured the $13,000 fillies & mares’ pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (August 31).
Fade Out (Tyler Miller) was first to the quarter in :27.0. Dandy’s Mercy ($2.60) took over control with a lap to go and led to the half in :55.4. She was still in command reaching three-quarters first in 1:23.4.
As they reached the stretch Fade Out came all out after the leader. Dandy’s Mercy let out another notch and cruised home in 1:51.1. So Diva (Jim Pataleono) finished third.
Dandy’s Mercy is a 3-year-old filly is trained by John Butenshoen for owners Hart Walker, Dandy Farms Racing, FT Racing, and Doug Overhiser. It was her fifth win this season. She now has nine career victories.

Mike Merton had a driving grand slam. He got his wins with Princess America, Bolt Of Beauty, No Cigar Tony, and Bridge Token. Braxten Boyd and Markus Miller each had driving triples.
