Tioga Downs welcomes two harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for freshmen trotting colts & geldings on Saturday (August 13).
Crown (Chapter Seven-Amour Heiress, Brian Sears) looks like the one to beat as the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $53,500 first division. The colt is trained by Marcus Melander. He is two for two this year picking up NYSS wins at Vernon Downs and Saratoga.

His toughest rival looks to be the Mark Harder trained The Gruffalo (Chapter Seven-Clementine Dream, Tyler Buter). The colt is two for three in his young career. He notched NYSS wins at Vernon Downs and Saratoga.
Wild Bill Kelso (Crazy Wow-Broadway Jo Ell, Wally Hennessey) is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the $53,350 second division. Jim Campbell trains the gelding. He has picked up NYSS wins at Monticello and Buffalo.
First time starter Tillio’s Action (E L Titan-Nothing But Nice, Mike Merton) is the 3-1 morning line second favorite, The colt is trained by John Grasso. He won his qualifier at the Meadowlands in 1:57.4.
