Co-features to Tokyo Seelster and Three Way Split

CHESTER, PA – Favorites Tokyo Seelster and Three Way Split were successful in their sections of $14,400 harness racing co-features at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon.

The Kadabra sophomore trotting colt Tokyo Seelster crossed the Canada-U.S. border and made his first Ron Burke start a winning one in 1:55.3.

Driver Yannick Gingras sent the Goodtimes and Ontario Roots finalist to the lead early and then drew clear over the final three-eighths to win by 5¾ lengths for owners Michael and Sam Sergi and Braveheart Racing.

TOKYO SEELSTER REPLAY

The Somebeachsomewhere sophomore pacing filly Three Way Split, a three-quarter sister to world record setter Tall Drink Hanover, also took the shortest way home in her event, never being headed in a victory in 1:52.4, equaling her lifetime best.

George Napolitano Jr., who had four victories on the card, drove the 1¾ length winner for trainer Tony Alagna and the ownership of Bottom Line Racing LLC, Brad Grant, and Marvin and Lynn Katz.

THREE WAY SPLIT REPLAY

Thursday’s 12:25 card is topped by a $15,300 conditioned trot for up-and-coming types, with all but one in the field of eight having won within their last three starts and the outside horse, One After Nine, going for his fourth straight.

The Thursday card will open with a $3462.04 carryover into the first race Superfecta. It is also noted that there will be a 2:05 p.m. start for the Philly live card on Friday, the first day of the Thoroughbreds’ Breeders Cup Championships from Del Mar.
