Tokyo Seelster (Kadabra, Truman Gale) won the featured harness racing $10,000 Open 1 Trot at Vernon Downs on Saturday (October 1).
Tokyo Seelster ($16.40) was first to the quarter in :27.1.Ā Ā Joxter (Dan Daley) came first-up and wrestled the lead away as they reached the top of the backstretch and led to the half in :56.0.Ā Ā Lepanto (Leon Bailey) made a first-over move going around the final turn but just sputtered and went nowhere.Ā Ā Joxter led to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they made the turn for home Tokyo Seelster popped the pocket and came after the leader.Ā Ā Joxter dug in but could not hold off the late spurt from Tokyo Seelster who won in a lifetime best of 1:53.2.
Joxter had to settle for second.Ā Ā Hotfoot Hannah (Dylan Huckabone-Miller) finished third.

Tokyo Seelster is a 4-year-old horse.Ā Ā He is owned by Michael Sergi and trainer Sam Sergi. It was his third win this season and he now owns nine career victories.
Steeven Genois and Frank Affrunti each had driving doubles on the card.
