Tomas (Art Major) and driver Artie Dick and Golden Kronos (Chapter Seven) and driver Jimmy Whittemore won the harness racing co-features at Vernon Downs on Saturday (June 24)
Tomas ($3.10) takes the $7,500 featured pace.

Gunpowder N (Jimmy Whittemore) went to the lead and was first to the quarter in :27.1. He used a :29.3 second quarter and led to the half in :56.4. Stewardoftheland (Claude Huckabone Jr.) came first-up and challenged for the lead going around the final turn. Gunpowder N led to three-quarters in 1:25.3.
As they made the turn for home Tomas came three-wide and powered on by to win in 1:52.4. Stewardoftheland had to settle for second. Old Pal (Truman Gale) came up to finish third.
Tomas is a 6-year-old gelding owned by White Yetti Racing and trained by Dick. He is two for two in 2023. He now has seven career victories.

Golden Kronos ($5.60) captures the $7,500 featured trot.

Zapaca (John MacDonald) led to the first quarter in :27.4. Slowed things down with a :30 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.4. He cruised to three-quarters in 1:26.3.
As they reached the stretch Golden Kronos popped out of the pocket blew right on by to take the lead. Second place finisher Discus Hanover (Roman Lopez) came flying late but could only watch as Golden Kronos won easily in 1:55.0. Poker Play (Steeven Genois) finished third.
Golden Kronos is a 9-year-old gelding trained by Chip Zombick for owners Michael and William Pozefsky. It was his first win this season. He now has 36 career victories.
