More than eleven harness racing trainers, including some of the leaders in the sport, have been reported having fines and suspensions, some of which are long outstanding cases that have been stayed.
Positives include the drugs Alrenogest, Aminocaproic Acid, Dexamethasone, Fentanyl, Flunixin, Gabapentin, Phenylbutazone, TCO2, Testosterone and Theobromine.
Some of the new penalties include trainers Tony Alagna ($2,000 in fines and a 45-day suspension, John Bavosi ($1,000 fine), Jill Brown ($1,000 fine), Robert Cleary ($1,000 fine), Nik Drennan ($2,000 fine), Joe Eisenhower ($500 fine), Mark Kesmodel ($500 fine and a 15-day suspension) and Matt Medeiros ($1,000 fine and a 30-day suspension).
Those with older fines and have had them stayed include Jenn Bongiorno, Joe Holloway, Pat Lachance and Tim Twaddle.
