Grove City, OH – Harness racing trainer Brian Brown was a perfect three for three last night as he sent three 2-year-old pacers to the gate, and all came home winners.
Seven divisions of the 2-year-old pace were contested at MGM Northfield Park with each carrying a purse of $17,500.
In the first division, Dragon Fly Creek (Fear The Dragon) grabbed the lead at the halfway point and cruised to the win for Ronnie Wrenn Jr. and Brown in 1:56.4. The gelding is owned by Debbie Bird.
DRAGON FLY CREEK REPLAY
Brown’s second win came from Sea Luck (Downbytheseaside) in 1:56.1 with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. Sea Luck is owned by Country Club Acres, Milton Leeman, Joe Sbrocco and Acadia Farms.
SEA LUCK REPLAY
The fastest win of the BSS went to another Brown pupil as Dirge (McArdle) was driven by Cameron McCown in 1:55.4. The colt is owned by Kirk Nichols and Tonya Nichols.
DIRGE REPLAY
The half-brother to Charlie May (McArdle), Shane Falco by Racing Hill was a winner in 1:56.1 with Aaron Merriman for Steve Carter. The colt is owned by Don Tiger, who also owns Charlie May.
SHANE FALCO REPLAY
Josh Sutton combined with Timothy Lane to lead Moved Bythe Spirit (Western Vintage) to the winner circle in 1:58.2. The gelding is the property of Lane and Storm Haven.
MOVED BYTHE SPIRIT REPLAY
The father-son combination of Jeff and Tyler Smith won the sixth division with Parklane Hill (Racing Hill) in 1:57.4 and paid the longest price of $12.40 to win. The gelding is owned by Shirley Le Vin.
PARKLANE HILL REPLAY
The final division was won by the gelding Western Ready (Western Vintage) with Aaron Merriman for trainer Scott Ferguson. Brendan Toops owns Western Ready.
WESTERN READY REPLAY
The 16-race program saw drivers Tony Hall, Aaron Merriman and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. each win three races.
The Buckeye Stallion Series returns to MGM Northfield Park Wednesday July 14 for two-year-old filly pacers. Five divisions will be contested, each for a purse of $17,500. First race post time Wednesday night is 6:00 pm.
