In a case before the New Jersey Racing Commission, trainer Per Engblom has received a $6,000 fine and a one-year suspension from racing starting on March 15, 2024.
The incident occurred on April 29, 2023 at The Meadowlands as the horse Mon Amour came up positive for the presence of Oxycodone, Carisprodol and Meprobamate.
A split sample was sent for testing at an approved independent lab and the results were again positive for the drugs.
Also of note, John J Miller has been fined $2,500 and suspended for 30 days as while he was not the trainer of record, he did admit under oath that he did give Boldenone to Some Bet Yankee for its qualifying race on July 18, 2023, at the Meadows.
