Harness racing trainer Kerin Warner had a training grand slam including a win in the $6,600 featured Fillies & Mares Open II Pace with So Diva (So Surreal, Justin Huckabone) at Vernon Downs on Friday (June 24).
So Diva ($2.20) goes straight to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.2.Ā Ā She used a :29.1 second quarter to hit the half in :56.3.Ā Ā Headed for three-quarters Milleniums Girl (Josh Kinney) pops the pocket and goes after the lead.Ā Ā So Diva leads to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they reached the stretch So Diva had plenty in the tank and wins easily in 1:53.1.Ā Ā Milleniums Girl held for second with Dream On A Roll (Frank Affrunti) finishing third best.
So Diva is a is a 4-year-old mare.Ā Ā Warner trained for owners the Morrisville College Foundation Inc.Ā Ā It was her second win this season.Ā Ā She now has 14 career victories.
SO DIVA REPLAY
Warner and Huckabone combined for wins with Quaker Hill ($7.70), and Nanuet ($5.80).Ā Ā Warnerās other win came with Bet Big On Blue ($4.90).
Huckabone and Steeven Genois each drove three winners on the card.Ā Ā Fannie Saul-Beaulieu had a training double.
19-year-old Brennan Enos got his first career pari-mutuel driving win with Cloudbreak (Somebeachsomewhere, $3.40).Ā Ā He co-owns the horse with Jeff Hayes.Ā Ā The 6-year-old gelding is trained by his mother Misty Carey.
