CROSWELL, Mich. — A trio of 2024 Michigan champions make their sophomore harness racing debuts on Tuesday’s (June 17) 12-race Michigan-Sired Colt Stakes program at the Croswell Fair, the first stop on the 2025 Michigan fair harness racing circuit.

Croswell Fair

Libbys Lucky Lady (Musclesprinctonian), who won seven of 13 starts, took a mark of 2:02.4 at Hastings, and banked $77,074 as a rookie, heads an eight-horse field in the $15,000 3-year-old filly trot, carded as the ninth race on the program. Trainer Tim Roach is slated to drive the daughter of Musclesprinctonian-Stickum Vicky from post seven. Another Roach trainee is poised to begin his championship defense in the finale. Gap Hunter, who took a mark of 1:58.2 at Hastings in his lone win and banked $66,710 last season, headlines a field of seven in the $15,000 3-year-old male pace.

Deadly Sting (Musclesprinctonian) will take on six rivals, including the late-blooming New Plan Stan, in the $15,000 sophomore colt and gelding trot, carded as race 10. The son of Musclesprinctonian-Chipps Lake won three of 12 starts, took a mark of 2:03 at Hastings, and earned $63,125 at 2, and will be driven by Don Harmon for trainer Krista Harmon.

Also on the card are a $15,000 3-year-old filly pace and eight $7,500 events for 2-year-olds, consisting of two divisions for each sex and gait and the debuts of the first Michigan crops of sires Musical Rhythm and Captain Victorious.

Post time for both Tuesday and Wednesday (June 18) is 5 p.m. (EDT). All programs this season will once again be broadcast via the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/@MichHarnessHorse).
