HAMBURG, N.Y. — I Got The Looks (Titan-Pretty Crafty) was a handsome winner in the $9,000 trot, one of three co-featured events at Buffalo Raceway on Friday afternoon (May 3), as he scorched the field in seasonal best 1:57.4 over the fast harness racing half mile track. He defeated Magic MVP by a comfortable three lengths.

In the second of the two $9,000 trots, Flo Lashomb (Swan For All-Bewitching Beauty) had an adventurous journey but still managed to turn back Bridge Works in 1:58.1.

VH Volt (Big Bad John-Blue Rock Trixie) stayed energized in the stretch and won the $9,000 pace and held off Make My Deo by a length in 1:55.3 while Daylight Rush finished in the show spot.

I Got The Looks (Dan Yetman), in the first bout, used the inside post advantage and fired off the starting gate to take command. With fractions of :29.0, :58.2 and 1:28.1, I Got The Looks was no match for the others as Magic MVP (David McNeight III) and Captain Krupnik (Jim Morrill Jr.) could only watch, settling for second and third place respectively.

The 7-year-old I Got The Looks is owned by Tronolone Racing and is trained by Frank Mays. The win pushed his seasonal earnings to $27,612 and $279,532 in his career. He paid $5.20 to win.

It was a three-horse breakaway at the midway point of the second event for the sidewinders as Pennant Seelster showed the way with Flo Lashomb and Bridge Works drafting along. It appeared Flo Lashomb (Joe Chindano, Jr.) was going to be hung out to dry but she was finally able to clear the lead.

It looked like the outside trip might have made Flo Lashomb leg weary down the lane but no such avail as Bridge Works couldn’t get any closer than a length. Art Of Duty (Shawn Mconough) was able to rally for the show spot.

Owned by Jeff Savidge Racing and conditioned by Maggie Chindano, Flo Lashomb has now taken three victories in 12 outings. The 4-year-old mare has $13,180 in the bank this season and $75,925 lifetime. She paid $6.80 to win.

VH Volt (James McNeight Jr.) had a belated start but was quickly able to rush up and grab the lead, posting times of :28.0, :57.4 and 1:27.3. Make My Deo (Ray Fisher Jr.) and Daylight Rush (McNeight III) all had VH Volt in their sights down the stretch but couldn’t complete the job.

Owned and trained by Betty Clegg, the 4-year-old gelded VH Volt has now registered three wins in 15 tries in 2024. The triumph jumped his yearly winnings to $25,960 and $126,003 lifetime. He paid $11.40 to win.

Yetman and Chindano Jr. finished the afternoon with three wins while Kyle Swift had a pair. Mays and David Russo had two training victories.

Racing returns on Saturday afternoon with a special 2:30 p.m. post in order to accommodate the Kentucky Derby festivities. The 10-race card will feature a $1,319 carryover in the Pick 5 which begins in the second race.
