With temperatures over 70 degrees, the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 2-year old harness racing trotters kicked off their Dover Downs series with three divisions of colts and geldings and two divisions of fillies. Purses for each division were $20,000.
Two early non-wagering races started the program.Ā The first division of colts was won by Rivers (Anders Bluestone-Stargazer Lily) breaking his maiden in 1:57 and winning by two and one-quarter lengths with a last quarter in 28.3 for the āCaptainā, Corey Callahan.
Trained by his dad, Nick Callahan for the partnership of Stuart Chambers Racing, BCJM, Inc., Divine Horse Racing, and Cinbrew Enterprises, LLC. Rivers was bred by Nancy S. Miller. Place was the Harrington final winner, LGās Reed O Wen (Jim Morand) and the show was American Hit (Kim Vincent).
Second non-wagering event was won by Brenda Teagueās homebred colt, Tua (Kodak Lindy-Cecada) in 2:01.1 driven by her nephew, Montrell. Second was Big Daddy D (Carlo Poliseno) followed by Wolfpack Russ (Corey Callahan) in third.
The first half of the Daily Double was won by Miss Timberwolf (Anders Bluestone-Photosinfulsis) in 2:01.4 for driver Kim Vincent and trainer, Amber Tucker. She is owned by Amberās grandfather, Bobby Myers and bred by Ed Coblentz. Second was Franky Doyle (Pat Berry) and third went to Shes All Woman (Jared Moyer).
MISS TIMBERWOLF REPLAY
Second half of the double was the other filly division won by Our Last Penny (CR Commando-CR Penny Lane) in 2:02.1 for breeder, trainer, and driver, Rod Allen.
The filly is the last foal of the dam, hence the name. Second was KJ Stolen Diamond (Victor Kirby) with Larimar (Allan Davis) finishing third.

The final colt and gelding division was the slowest of the three and went to Text Command (CR Commando-Call Me Hazel) and driver, Tim Tetrick in 2:01.3. Trained by Steve LeBlanc for owners, LeBlanc Racing, Doug Johnson,and Glenn Dyke. Bred by Winbak Farm. Second was Canoe Trip (Allan Davis) followed by Brief Legacy (Russell Foster).Ā

MORAIRTIME BEATS THE BOYS
Morairtime humbled the boys and won the open Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night.
Jack Parker Jr. left from post 7 with Morairtime, but waited for the dust to settle as Swansea and Northern Express both left alertly from the starting gate.
Morairtime was parked for nearly a half mile before clearing for the lead. The opening quarter was reached in 27.3 and the half in 56.1. Morairtime felt pressure past the half as Remarkable De Vie moved first over. Whimsical Chapter followed 2nd over on the rim.
Morairtime then braced for the challenge and led the field to the three quarters in 1:25. In the stretch, Morairtime left the boys in her dust, and won by 1 Ā½ lengths and trotted the mile 1:53.2. She trotted the last quarter in 28.2.
Morairtime (Airzoom Lindy) paid $4 as the race favorite. She is owned by James D. Moore III of Concord, NC. Jack Parker Jr. drove. Carol Jamison- Parker, Jackās wife trained.
Northern Express sat in the pocket but could not gain on the leader. Arty Foster Jr. trained and his son Russell Foster drove. Swansea finished a ground saving 3rd for trainer Scott DiDomenico and driver Tim Tetrick.
On Wednesday, Lyons Sentinel tackles JK First Lady and Marloe Hanover in the $40,000 Mares Invitational.
On Thursday, Dover Downs hosts (4) Matron Stakes for three year olds. Featured are Breederās Crown champs Bella Bellini and Test Of Faith along with Charlie May all in separate divisions.
There is a $2,063 pentafecta carryover. Also, a pick five carryover of $638. Post Time for Dover Downs is 4:30 pm.
