Harrah’s Philadelphia held two $35,000 divisions of the Liberty Series for three-year-old harness racing trotting colts and gelding Thursday (Oct. 12) afternoon.
In the 5th race first division, Once In A Lifetime (Father Patrick) was able to come first-over in the backstretch for driver Tim Tetrick and wear down pacesetter Jokic (Andy McCarthy) for the victory.
Once In A Lifetime got away in fourth place before making his first-over bid. He was able to wear down Jokic on the final turn, taking the lead at the top of the stretch and then holding off a late charge by Momoni De Vie (David Miller) to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:53.3. Jokic was third.
It was the sixth win of the year for Once In A Lifetime, who is trained by Jim Campbell for Sad Frog Farms and paid $3.40 to win.
ONCE IN A LIFETIME REPLAY
The second division was the 7th race where Khaosan Road (International Moni) was given a perfect drive by Andy Miller in defeating pacesetter Herodotus (David Miller).
The race favorite, Khaosan Road left from post six as did Herodotus from post seven with Herodotus winning out on cutting the mile. With no real opposition coming first-over, the duo raced one-two until the final turn when Andy Miller sent Khaosan Road after Herodotus.
Those two battled down the stretch until Khaosan Road took over and went on to win by one length in 1:52.3. Herodotus was second with Pedal On Metal (Tim Tetrick) third.
KHAOSAN ROAD REPLAY
It was a lifetime mark and the fourth win on the season for Khaosan Road, who is trained by Ake Svanstedt for Knutsson Trotting and Little E Stable, paying $3.80 to win.
