Dayton, OH – Harness racing wagering was at a frenzy today (Oct. 5) at Dayton Raceway having a $25,000 guaranteed Pick 5 pool which revealed two winning tickets.
Leg 1 saw $18,028 in live money after heavy favorite Primary Colors (Jk Endofanera) scored in Race 2 with driver Brett Miller aboard for trainer Walter Haynes Jr, but things quickly changed stride in leg 2 when 8-1 morning line Odds On Capitalism found his way to victory in Race 3 with driver Tyler Smith at the controls for Virgil Morgan Jr. leaving $1,878 in live money left in the Pick 5.
PRIMARY COLORS REPLAY
Race 4 saw an even greater upset when 27-1 The Thunder Rolls (So Surreal) and Tony Hall for trainer Danny Dubeansky swooped the field to leave $6.00 in live money. Completing the Pick 5 pool was race favorite Caviart Cooper and Tyler Smith for trainer Mike Arnold, leaving two winning tickets each paying $19,446.30.
THE THUNDER ROLLS REPLAY
Driver Dan Noble enjoyed a driving hattrick on the evening’s racing card. Noble kicked things off in Race 1 winning with Key Advisor in 1:50.3 for wife Christi Noble and doubled up for his team winning with Stars Align A in Race 5 in 1:52.2. The Xenia native found victory lane once again in Race 10 with Carlos Mittanna for trainer Pete Redder in 1:53.1 over a sloppy rain ridden track.
Trainer Steve Carter also had a training double on the Thursday evening card, winning with Incredible Man (Brett Miller) in 1:50.1 and Tre Cruz (Austin Hanners) in 1:51.4.
