Cream Ridge, NJ – 10/14/21 – The more than 60 trotters and pacers the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) reached out for, just a few days ago, have a bit more time. SRF negotiated this extension.
These Standardbreds are being held in a crammed pen and are deteriorating quickly. Everyone of these horses needs help NOW.
A few have been removed and are in the care of SRF, thanks to a couple of special donors.
None have received the sizeable tax-deductible support SRF asked of the racing community.
This plea was made after the recent yearling sale saw $47 million dollars change hands. SRF is the most powerful advocate for Standardbreds. It is in the planning stage of innovative work to interrupt this process, sending these horses to their brutal demise.
We ask everyone to join in its unprecedented effort to make change, but until this is implemented, these horses are desperate for help. SRF pleads for homes, donations, foster homes, other organizations with a like mission, and past owners and breeders to step up quickly to keep them from slaughter. If already approved as an adopter or foster home please email SRF at SRF.socialmedia@gmail.com.
