Last week’s Judges Report to the USTA featured a number of significant fines and suspensions.
Those fined and some suspended for horses with positive tests included Eric Abbatiello, Lynn Adams, Dylan Davis, Angelo Nappo and Larry Stalbaum.
There were also some outlandish suspensions and fines doled out. Trainer Greg Peck has had all of his occupational licenses suspended indefinitely for failure to appear and participate at a hearing relating to the allegations that he failed to cooperate with an ongoing investigation conducted by the NJRC.
Driver Brett Miller was fined $1,000 and suspended for five days for kicking Charlie May in the stretch. Farrier Mark Herlihy fined $250 for an act of cruelty in striking a horse with a hammer. And Deshawn Horton has been suspended indefinitely for committing assault and battery on another licensee participant in the race paddock.
