LAKE WORTH, FL…September 19, 2023…The Florida Amateur Driving Club (FADC), left “homeless” with the closure of Pompano Park last year, was ‘“reincarnated” months ago as the United States Harness Drivers Club (USHDC) and, due to the hospitality of Oak Grove Racing and Gaming in Kentucky, had a very successful rebirth and now has a pair of hosts for the upcoming fall harness racing season.

Both Shenandoah Downs in Woodstock, VA. and Cumberland Run, in Corbin, KY. will feature the USHDC events on a weekly basis when their respective meetings begin.

Shenandoah Downs has a six-week meeting beginning September 16 and going through October 29 while Cumberland Run begins October 15 and concludes November 7.

USHDC Treasurer Tom Eichas informs that Shenandoah Downs will card events every Saturday while Cumberland Run will feature amateur events on Sundays.

Eichas went on lamenting, “The great hospitality shown at Oak Grove was absolutely wonderful…from Racing Secretary Kevin Mack to Cara Collins to the starting judge giving rides to guests in the starting gate and the wonderful photography capturing the history, it couldn’t have been any better.”

The USHDC donated over $10,000 to worthy charitable organizations during the meeting vaulting their contributions to over $300,000 since their inception.

Eichas explained, “This is all possible because of the generosity of our club membership as all drivers donate 100% of their driving earnings in races for distribution to these causes.

“We intend to keep up our efforts during the upcoming fall meetings giving harness racing a boost through community efforts and contributions to some worthy organizations.”
