Columbus, OH – The U.S. Trotting Association announced Wednesday (Oct. 27) that it has agreed to a partnership with In the Money Media Network to promote the Breeders Crown as well as a number of other major stakes race days in 2021 with a focus on the USTA Strategic Wagering program on those dates.
The program includes customized segments and ads on the First Over with Edison Hatter podcasts, ad placements in the weekly In The Money newsletter, and social media promotion on @InTheMoneyMedia and @loomsboldly platforms.
“In The Money has a well-established network of podcasts about horse racing and wagering with a large audience,” said USTA Executive Vice President and CEO Mike Tanner. “Recently they expanded their menu to include harness racing, and this presents an excellent opportunity to introduce and promote our Strategic Wagering Program on major stakes days to a great target audience of primarily sophisticated Thoroughbred bettors.”
In addition to the Breeders Crown at The Meadowlands on Oct. 29 and 30, the other major stakes days that will be part of the promotion will include the Matron Stakes for 2-year-olds at Dover Downs on Nov. 4, the Carl Erskine, Monument Circle, Crossroads of America, and USS Indianapolis Stakes at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Nov. 5, the Matron Stakes for 3-year-olds at Dover Downs on Nov. 11, the Goldsmith Maid, Governor’s Cup, Three Diamonds, Valley Victory Stakes and TVG Finals at The Meadowlands on Nov. 20, and the Progress Pace at Dover Downs on Nov. 24.
“We are so happy to be partnering with the USTA and are very proud of what Edison Hatter has created in just a few short months with his First Over podcast,” said Peter Fornatale, co-founder of the In the Money Network. “We believe there is a tremendous potential for crossover between our Thoroughbred audience and the Standardbred crowd and are excited to play a part in bringing those worlds together.”
The In the Money Media Network, founded by Jonathon Kinchen and Peter Thomas Fornatale, is a collection of horse racing podcasts and other content about horse racing and gambling.
The network itself is an outgrowth of the In the Money Players’ Podcast (originally the DRF Players’ Podcast), the longest continuously running horse racing podcast. It has charted in iTunes and been nominated for awards, but most importantly, it has brought together a diverse community of horseplayers from all walks of life, and counts amongst its fans some of the biggest names in the racing industry.
